Blake Weld is an interdisciplinary artist who utilizes video, found objects, electric motors, and micro controllers to create and manipulate their art. In 2018, Weld received an M.F.A from University of North Texas. Weld’s work has been exhibited nationally from 500x Gallery in Dallas, Texas to New System Exhibition in Portland, Main as well as received numerous grants, most recently The Dallas Foundation for the kinetic sculpture, Field of Lawn Chairs, that was exhibited for the 2018 Dallas Aurora EXPANDED exhibition. As a member of 500x Gallery in Dallas, Texas Weld has curated exhibitions, exhibited their own work and most recently became the groups representative at Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas. In September 2019, The Amon Carter Museum of American Art announced Mr. Weld as one of the Carter Community Artist. Weld is currently employed at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, Nebraska as the Residency Arts Technician.
